Thanks for the comment on my blog post and ...Eric,

Thanks for the comment on my blog post and the offer of help. My Charter account number was [redacted]. I would appreciate an email from you acknowledging that I do not owe Charter the return of a cable modem, as I never leased one from Charter in the first place. I would also appreciate expediting a check in the amount of [redacted] to the address on my account for the unused portion of my last bill.

Regarding your last comment, if Charter really does want my business back, you can take two steps: first, eliminate metered billing for internet services, and second, remove the surcharge on customers who choose not to buy cable television. It would also help if Charter engaged in open pricing at competitive levels, but I'm not holding my breath on that account.

While I do appreciate your taking the effort to chase down this issue, it does not speak well of Charter that people have to "go public" to get the company to correct its own mistakes. I will be happy to post an update on my blog when (and if) these issues are resolved, but fair warning: if I ever get another call, bill, or God help you, notice from a collection agency in this matter, all hell will break loose. Will Collierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15125312209711458722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7870530298450082582.post-6822027046318242002009-04-14T11:53:00.000-04:002009-04-14T11:53:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by the author. Will Collierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15125312209711458722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7870530298450082582.post-34595692625617876662009-04-14T10:58:00.000-04:002009-04-14T10:58:00.000-04:00Contra Eric,

The company that I work for is one of those collections agencies that Charter will turn their accounts over to. I have seen it all too often that Charter will continually tell a consumer that they have taken care of the matter only to have the same consumer screaming in my ear a few months later because Charter couldn't keep their records straight.

Be sure to save any final bills that you receive showing either a credit or a balance of 0. You are probably going to need them.Brian Simpsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10029479391517106786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7870530298450082582.post-62637353288722527972009-04-14T10:00:00.000-04:002009-04-14T10:00:00.000-04:00Hello Will,
