Bob Etheridge, Thug

Wow. Check out this video posted at Big Government of North Carolina Democrat Bob Etheridge roughing up a college kid who asks him a perfectly normal political question on a public sidewalk:

Congressman, to quote the movie Backdraft, "You see that flash of light in the corner of your eye? That's your career dissipation light. It just went into high gear."

H/T: The Blogfaddah.

  1. Too bad that here in NC he will always be reelected. His district is gerrymandered and there can be no opposition to that thug.

  2. Actually his district isn't that gerrymandered. Right now the polls in that district is R+2 and he's got an opponent. http://www.reneeforcongress.com/

He ran as a "moderate" democrat despite 95% liberal rating.

  3. "I have a right to know who you are."

That's the 28th Amendment, right? The asshattedness of Congresspersons knowing no bounds, the right of said persons to know who you are shall not be infringed.

  4. As the Professor says, the country is in the very best of hands.

    Not.

  5. I wonder who he's so afraid of? Looks like he's under a lot of pressure from somewhere to snap like this.

  6. After being told to let go, how is his continued tight grip of that student's arm and subsequent neck grab and body squeeze NOT assault?!?!

I'd file charges in a freakin' heartbeat.

  7. You know, I love that movie, but that line has always sounded really clunky to me. Does anyone ever actually use that rhetorical phrase? There's a "career dissipation light," and it's normally located in the corner of the eye? Really?

  8. I'm with Brenda. Why aren't more people talking about the criminality? In addition to assault and battery, the grab to the wrist and neck meet the model penal code definition of kidnapping (which probably, but not definitely, means it meets the North Carolina definition).

  9. Obviously we need to reinvent journalism, to keep this kind of thing from happening. It takes away from the Dems narrative.

  10. Etheridge is a thug and alcoholic.

  11. And lest we forget, the thug used to be head of North Carolina public schools as Superintendent of Public Instruction.
